Total Pollination System

Instructions

FULL Instructions

The Pinch and Pull is a single use, disposal, 96% biodegradable, selective pollinating device for single buds, it prevents almost all crossover seeding.

  1. Using a felt tip pen (ball point pens fade in the sun quickly), First write at the provided lines the date of pollination, the female being seeded, the name of male acting as father and write the proposed title of the seed being produced. Writing over the pull string can damage the bag face.
  2. In an indoor or well sheltered location away from any females load pollen in to the small resalable/sealable pouch; squeeze the walls of the pollen pouch enough to see the green string at the very bottom of the pollen pouch. You may need to use your finger to open the pouch fully exposing the green indicator. Place a small amount of pollen on the green indicator and allow the pollen to rest at the bottom of the pouch, when we say pollen we mean pollen and flower segments, From time to time the indicators do not show. If this happens to you proceed as normal, just be sure to get to pollen at the bottom of the pouch.
  3. Seal the pollen pouch. It can be licked then sealed like an envelope
  4. Go out to the garden and select a female to be seeded, select a bud for seeding,
  5. Trim off the large fan leaves and some if the smaller leaves, you need to trim foliage to expose the anthers AKA hairs or feather so that the pollen can make physical contact with them.
  6. Place the bag over the trimmed up bud, be sure the pull string reaches outside the long bag, rotate the pollen pouch to an upright passion, the pollen pouch needs to be pointing up (to the sky) to effectively empty the pouch. Leave two or three inches of space between the top of the bud and the pollinator sack.
  7. Using the provided twist tie or zip tie seal the bottom of the large bag around the steam below the bud being seeded. Don’t close the tie overly tight as it may damage the plants stem.
  8. Grasp by pinching the large bag at the fingerprint icon, then firmly pull the green deployment string down and away from the top of the device as you retain your grasp on the top of the device, you need to pull the string about three inches.
  9. With your fingers strike the bag in a “flicking motion” a few times, this is to agate and scatter the pollen through the sack. Now gently shake the sack for three seconds to help disperse pollen through the sack. Some of the initial pollen release will settle towards bottom. I recommend going back about one hour after pollinating and gently point the sack towards the ground ( if feasible ) give a shake to move settled pollen up towards the selected flower. Shake for three seconds again.
  10. Now leave the bag for 4 to 5 days to allow latent pollen to dissipate.
  11. After giving time for the pollen to dissipate tear the bag open like a banana, only make one tear, leave the device in place, when the seeded bud is harvested cut the stem bellow the pollinating sack as to retain the parentage info recorded on the sack. NOTE: once seeded a bud may become additionally seeded from addition pollen it comes in contact with, it is your responsibility as the grower to prevent undesired latent pollens from seeding your crop.
